Dan's Test Blog
Friday, 16 September 2005
Hello Brave New World
Mood:  quizzical
Now Playing: A new test blog from yet another computer professional, yay
Topic: Computers
Howdy folks,

Yes, yet another blog from a computer professional. With the explosion of blog fever around the whole world, each one clamouring for new attention, it is not hard to be a bit sarcastic about the inception of yet another blog, and from a computer professional yet. Are computer guys an over represented group in the blog world? I am not sure, but would not be surprised. Many of the bloggers in my favorites list are not computer professionals, but the blogs that catch my interest enough to warrant placement in my overstuffed favorites list are not in a category likely to be inhabited by many IT pros, programmers, or computer hardware enthusiasts.

Most of the blogs I follow regularly tend to be those associated with China. I've found that a fast way to immerse myself into China, her customs, culture, and language is to regularly read the blogs from Chinese nationals and foreign expats living in China. It is a chance to read the unpolished, direct, and personal accounts of what China is like, how to learn Mandarin, and many of the small things about living in China that would not make it into a professional news article.

If I do not lost interest in this blog thing (which is likely to occur), then I may post links to the blogs here. So stay tuned... (if I can hold your interest)
